WE HAVE SUSPENDED THIS SCHEME WHILST OUR SCHOOL IS CLOSED. WE HOPE TO RESUME IT AGAIN SOON.
Since we started this very successful recycling scheme, we have added to the list of items we can collect for recycling. Please click on the links below for details of what is and isn't acceptable by Terracyle. We'd like to say a very big thank you to everyone who supports our recycling scheme!
We do not have the facilities to recycle plastic bottles and paper brought in from home. These items can be recycled in your usual council recycling boxes. Thank you.
Anyone who would like more information or to support this project further can join us on Facebook: The Wombles of White Hall Academy
Unsealed of Clacton
White Hall Academy and the Friends would like to thank Kayleigh and Zoe, from Unsealed in Clacton, for helping us with our recycling. Have you visited Unsealed in Clacton yet? They are helping the environment with their plastic free refill shop based at 2a the Grove. You just take you own containers along, fill up with what you need and pay. They have a wide variety of goods from sugar, cereals, herbs, shampoo, cleaning products, oils and vinegars and much more. Just buy what you need.
Parents, grandparents and carers if you could spare a few hours here or there to help sort the recycling in school ready to be sent off, the Friends would be very grateful. Thank you. Please email: Friends@witehallacademy.essex.sch.uk

The school are obliged to follow the guidance given by NHS England. If you would like advice relating to any childhood illness, please contact Public Health East of England on 0300 303 8537.
To help you decide whether you should allow your child a day off when poorly, the NHS has produced guidance on common illnesses. This guidance is available via http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/Yourchildatschool.
This guidance underpins the Schools decision whether or not the reason provided for absence is to be authorised.
The message given is quite clear: Common or minor illnesses do not necessitate a day off school. Colds, coughs, sore throats and headaches are not acceptable reasons for your child’s absence from school. Absences for these reasons will not be authorised at White Hall Academy.
Please support us by ensuring your child attends school regularly.
White Hall Academy now has its own Co-op share account. Other Co-op members are able to donate their dividends on purchases to the Academy. If you would like to do this you just need to quote our Dividend number 634796 when making purchases from any East of England Co-op.
The dividends can be cashed in and used to purchase extra resources for the school.
